Explaining the details behind a highly technical niche industry is a difficult task, and in investment management, that is often just step one of getting to the value of a single company.
Viasat is an innovative telecom company with strong intellectual property (IP) that created a new industry of high throughput satellite services (versus the common to today LEO technologies of competitors). Investment manager Cove Street Capital put together a deck of their valuation of Viasat shortly after a purchase of shares and handed the material to me to spiff it up and make it easier to digest.
The end result was executed in Google Slides with icons from the Noun Project and custom illustrations made in Adobe Illustrator.
