Watch Party — Social TV

Watching TV is no longer the interactive, shared experience that it used to be. Our application seeks to revitalize the communal elements that helped launch television into astronomic popularity once upon a time. We aim to be the ultimate forum for TV lovers, giving them an optimized environment to connect and engage with content.

Proposal - Team Recruit

Created in Google Slides

Do you use technology to connect with other people, like a phone or computer? How about to watch video content of some sort, whether it’s streaming, cable, whatever device?

Let’s combine the two experiences—people connect and watch content—together. It’s watch party.

Let’s say you want to watch the football game with your best friend back home. Her live video feed appears in the corner of the screen you are watching, and yours appears in hers. Your conversation feeds in with the content audio.

Looking at it a different way -- politics can be a drag, but what if your favorite comedian commented on all the news? Suddenly the state of the union turns into a roast hosted by Amy Schumer. Or Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye. Or your grandmother?

The idea is to not only capture the fun of having a viewing party, but to also make watching live television feel special again.
